On Senate Floor, Chairwoman Stabenow Addresses Farm Bill Process- Road Ahead

As the House of Representatives passed a disaster assistance package on Thursday afternoon for livestock producers negatively impacted by this year’s historic drought, Senate Agriculture Committee Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.) came to the Senate floor to provide background on the Farm Bill process and to talk about the road ahead.

More specifically, The New York Times reported on Friday that, “Moments after the House passed its bill, Ms. Stabenow took to the Senate floor to say that lawmakers would instead work informally over the August recess to try to put together a new measure to present to Congress when it meets in September.”
