On a three-day campaign trip across Iowa last week, President Barack Obama highlighted the drought and Farm Bill, as well as issues associated with wind energy.
(Jennifer Jacobs reported last night at The Des Moines Register Online that, “GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney will be in Iowa again this week, returning to campaign in Scott County. A noon rally [on Wednesday] is scheduled at LeClaire Manufacturing in Bettendorf, according to an email sent to Romney supporters in Iowa.”)
With respect to the President’s trip last week, speaking yesterday on Fox News Sunday, Obama Campaign Advisor Robert Gibbs summarized: “The president was in Iowa, first talking about how we pass a farm bill to help farmers and ranchers that are dealing with the worst droughts in our history. The next day, he talked about how we continue to add clean energy jobs to our economy by extending the tax cut for wind energy.”
